The queen & I...

Today a number of us visited Queen Esther Baptist Church in Muskegon Heights.  This was the first experience for our team in an entirely black church...and it was wonderful!  We had some connection with them both because Wally works with one of their members and because we marched in their parade last month.

The two things that struck me were...

1.  Just being a minister, the pastor had me come up to the platform where I had a seat of honor for the entire two hour and fifteen minute service!

2.  The pastor also had me bring greetings to his congregation where I was able to share the vision for the deep.  This congregation was extremely interested in us and very supportive.

I have always considered myself a fairly entertaining communicator.  After watching this pastor sing, preach and dance about I now know that I am not quite as captivating as I may have thought...but I am still happy to be me and grateful that God is doing the things He is in and through our brand new church!
